taken at the Cynwyd mountain fire 1976 which attracted appliances fro Clwyd, Cheshire, and Shropshire (latter county also known as Salop for short). Note the window in the door to help the driver see the curb.

Shropshire appliances came from as far afield as Albrighton to this.Some 70 plus miles allegedly. Now that IS a good run "on the bell"!

Does it really have front doors? It seems to have no front door handles!

it had no front doors , even for its time it was an old fashioned design , the driver went in the rear door and climbed over the gear lever and handbrake into the drivers seat same as the green goddess
