CCC 160 Commer Carmichael WrE Gwynedd

taken at Conway fire station Gwynedd FS 1975. Ed Doherty was officer in charge and he kindly got the machine out for me. It carried 400 gallons and an escape ladder so called water escape WrE. Conway is an English planted town from the 12th century in North Wales beside the magnificent castle. The old station prior to this one was a shed attached to the medieval wall.

Commer OX apparently - see picture 23959. "This was the only escape in Caernarfonshire where the stays folded down onto the ladder to fit into the old Conwy fire station in the castle walls".

Yes Commer OX according to Roger Pennington's book. East Riding had a similar batch of WrT appliances. Any more classics from Gwynedd Peter?
