Fire Engines Photos

Ahh Petros you've done it again. A 39yo fire engine afficinado salivates again. Keep them comming please. Bedford J4/HCB allocated to Cerrigydrudion in 1962. Twin sister 4401 UN was allocated to Montgomery and ended up in Powys during the disasterous boundary change in 1974. 4401 UN is currently in someone's garden on Anglesey just north of Benllech and south of City Dulas. Yes those stickers were hidious but were the new County logo for some time and the Clwyd and Wirrial purchasing consortium used it up the the eighties. Bring back the pre '74 boundaries I say. Anyone else agree?

4400UN and 4401UN were both For Sale about 3 years ago 1 as a runner and 1 for spares from same place,God I kick myself now! Not many Clwyd pumps left.

4401 UN survives and was at the Haddenham Steam Rally September 2010.

I bought 4400UN in 1982 from Clwyd Fire Service and over a period of 3 years refurbished it back to its original colour of Wexham Red and kitted it out with D & M equipment it was immaculate when I had to sell it 1987 Sold it to person near Ormskirk Merseyside. I was sorry to see it go.

Hi there I’ve just come across an old post that you spent a lot of time refurbishing, I wonder if you can help me, I’ve been asked by uncle (Peter weight) to help him in locating the correct colour code for weham red for an old 1964 ladder engine that himself and his old crew purchased, it’s there actual old engine that they where on when they where in service, they are in the process of bringing it back to its complete former glory, with my role to paint it,
