This appliance was a Brigade spare, however at the time of this incident it was on the run at Whitchurch due to our Commer water tender being in Workshops. I know this because I drove it to the incident!

Its sister appliance KUV247 ended up at the Decca factory Bridgnorth as an industrial appliance. I have a photo but it is so poor quality that I do not think the editor would accept it. The same factory had conventional Dennis F8 JFK670. Factory later taken over by Tatung.

I was always surprised that this series of Dennis F series with Alfred Miles bodywork we’re usually built like this without front doors, which were of course a standard feature of the original Dennis model on whose chassis these were built. The lightweight aluminum body did increase payload so that they could carry a full JCDD water tender load of 400 IG though, while the older wood framed design could be stretched to 350, but more commonly were delivered with either a 200 or 300 gallon tank.
