This Carmichael design was unique, in that it was installed on almost every chassis available for fire appliance use at the time, in addition to Bedford - which was the most popular. These included Albion, Commer, Dodge, Ford, Karrier and Leyland - not to mention one or two anonymous chassis which had no manufacturer's badging...

I believe that neither AEC nor Dennis chassis were ever used, but it may have happened!
