In back ground is a nubian Thorneycroft Purchased for Shorts it was painted blue and grey untill we got it back to Airfield.

This demonstrator ended up with Hereford&Worcester Brigade based at Worcester.It was offered by Carmichael,to the local Brigade at supposedly reduced price in October 1975.It was registered RAB498P,its sister appliance went on the run at Kidderminster.

The great news is that it appears that it still exists! It was for sale in the October 2009 edition of the FSPG monthly magazine Off The Run. I found some further info on an un-official Shelvoke & Drewry website that states that after its time with Hereford & Worcester (H&W) it spent several years at Yorkshire's Eggborough Power Station. The advertisement said that it was one of 5 built for H&W.

John, I have seen it recently, Oct 2009. It was at the Sheffield fire museum I think they now own it.

I think H&W were so impressed by it that they only took 2,I have seen a pic in a book of Kidderminsters one and this one is in Clive Shearman's book on H&W Brigade

Glad to say, this is still about. I have owned it for 6 years. It has been barn stored. I am donating it to the RAF Firefighting museum in the next week or so.
