Aka "ARP/CARP" - this is the size of truck needed for a successful model.

The vehicle's length and width simply would not be feasible for many British and European fire-coverage areas.

The Laws of Physics just won't allow trying to cram a "Quint" onto a smaller wheel-base....er, just try telling that, to certain Upper Managements.

Nice shot, in a "British-type" setting.....does it really rain over there {;>)

Dresden has a very tidy quint on an Atego chassis, designed to fit into old town district's narrow streets.

A very similar "baby" quint is illustrated on this site, which is in service in Istanbul.

These have a 1600 LPM pump, an 18 meter ladder, a 1000 liter tank and a six seat crew cab.

In the US a lot of newer quints are rear mounts. This configuration reduces overall length, but the mid mount does help keep the height down if this is a priority...
