Mitsubishi Canter Fire Pumper (Philippines)
This is a Mitsubishi Fuso Canter Double Cab Mini Fire Pumper. This has a Morita ME-3 Fire Pump. This unit originally did not have water storage but eventually C-Success Fire Trucks Manila installed a 500 gallons Stainless Steel tank for first attack on small fires. This Is Stationed in Blumentritt street in the city of Manila, Philippines. This Acted as a Fire Verification Unit and First responder of Manila Blumentritt Fire Volunteer Association of the Philippines.

Carter, Nice compilation of refurbished and re-conditioned units of the Philippines. Goes to show ingenuity and innovation of the Philippines in making the best with limited budgets. Really like the paintjobs.

Bomba Boy: Quite true. Japanese pumpers with water tanks are quite rare. If this is a conversion, they must have hung the tank on the back where the hose cart goes. So where does the hose go? And what happens to the weight distribution with all that weight of water back there? Probably makes for very light steering...

The Canter is now beginning to show up in French SDIS fleets, in both 2X4 and 4X4 versions.
Due to their low unladen chassis weight, they can handle up to a 2, 000 liter water tank as well as accommodating five crew, a 1000 LPM rated pump (at 15 AT) and a decent amount of hoses, ladders and equipment.
These have have been very popular with fire services in many Far Eastern countries (including New Zealand) for decades, as well as in their native Japan, and are now turning up all over Europe - mainly but not always as replacements for the once very popular but recently discontinued Mercedes Varios.
It seems that many UK fire services might benefit from these smaller water tenders to better be able to access rural and/or older urban areas, where they could use a smaller vehicle than the usual Scania or Atego.
So far, a few have been in service with Highlands and Islands in Scotland, but I think that may be all of them...
