Jim, sorry to disapoint but this pump was first issued to Rye,I never new it went to Wadhurst.Have you just bought this pump of ebay and if you did I hope you paid a lot less than the asking price. It must have cost just as much to transport it back from North Yorkshire? It will be good to see it back in East Sussex and my dad will be very pleased as it was on the run at Rye when he joined. Shaun Rogers.

Good luck with the restoration of this one, I bought my Karrier off of ebay aswell (ex westmorland GJM 447) The problems started when we stripped the paint off and saw all the rot under where the karrier name badge went. Seems a common problem with Karriers that they rot on the front. But great Trucks once you get them running - Good luck!
Barrie, the engine is fitted on at a slant, the lower end (sump) lays to the offside, hence the reason for the offset starting handle. This gives a virtually flat floor in the cab. SAP201 is gradually progressing. The engine runs well, and 70% of the braking system has been overhauled so far. As Martin mentioned above, she suffers from a badly rusted front so will need alot of work, when time and funds allow. The good thing is that she's in the dry, which has prevented further decay.
