Would this Pump have been involved in The Luftwaffe's Coventry Blitz of Nov/1940 and later air-raids?

I am curious to know whether all the Works' Fire Brigades (private company fire departments) were "taken up" and incorporated into the Auxiliary Fire Service and National Fire Service, in Great Britain, for the duration of the war. Or, did they stay semi-autonomous with their company...perhaps, an understanding to help out, outside their factory gates ?

Yes Pat most defiantly this pump would have been used in the blitz in the Coventry area, I believe that works brigades remained 'outside' the NFS but would have helped out with local fires

John Dickinson & Co. Ltd. Apsley Mills FB ran a separate additional AFS - NFS section but the original Fireman, full time and volunteers, were an autonomous brigade unit
