The G Wagen is a very expensive but much more reliable alternative to the quite similar Land Rover Defender, built in Austria and marketed in different countries as either a Steyr (who build it) or as a Mercedes (who supply the engine and drive train.)
No registration mentioned above, but V743FCR was new to Storrington in November 1999, and was replaced by Mercedes Sprinter 4 x 4 HX64LDE, and moved to Crawley in October 2016. HX64LDE has also been replaced at Storrington moving to the Technical Rescue Unit at Worthing in 2025. Storrington currently has Steyr Super G X611FPO which was moved from East Grinstead to Storrington to replace the Mercedes. East Grinstead now has Steyr Super G V746FCR after service at Petworth & Shoreham.
