This looks very much like 100% "American / Candian" built fire engine. Mid ship pump classic HME cab. Typical American top mounted ladder rack. Are these units becoming more and more popular outside the U.S and Canada? Great picture of a very "clean" yet highly functional fire engine.

Gotta agree with Todd - if not for the blue light-bar and the simple licence plate - why, even the gold lettering on the rear door of "Volunteer, Herve, Fire Dept" would place it in North America.
This motif in English; not something to do with the European Common Market standards, is it !?
A peek, at the Herve Group above, shows Herve has quite a few USA apparatus... including a second HME, whose door is lettered "Pompiers, Herve, Volantaires".
BTW, from The Web; HME stands for Hendrickson Mobile Equipment of Wyoming, in State of Michigan, USA ,by the Great Lakes; and just north of Kalamazoo...
The company was founded in Chicago in 1913, by Magnus Hendrickson; and makes a range of heavy equipment. They also produce Fire Apparatus under the legendary Ahrens-Fox name.
Great picture of a very "clean" yet highly functional fire engine.
