One of many hundreds which were left behind by US forces and converted by local firms in a wide variety of firefighting configurations.

Most were 3000 litre tankers with independently powered pumps of around 500 LPM capacity - and a resulting pump and roll capability.

Many were also converted in Switzerland, Austria, Portugal, Belgium and the Netherlands, including some with front mounted pumps and/or enclosed four door crew cabs, while others were converted into specials and some remained in service as general utility transports with their original bodies.

Along with loads of additional US Dodge 4X4 and 6X6 light trucks and Canadian Chevrolet 4X4s, these ex US army trucks made a huge contribution to the fire fighting resources in many European countries for several decades after WWII.
