CalFire Cleveland National Forest Engine 51Pictured is a CalFire Type 3 (Model 14) Wildfire/Structural Engine on station in the Cleveland National Forest. Engine 51 carries a crew of three and is operated as part of the Riverside County Fire Department, a division of CDF or CalFire.
Although the agency started out as a the state's premier wildland fire department, during the past 20 years, CalFire has begun contracting its services to metropolitan and rural areas, as well as counties.
Just 2 hours after this photo was taken, the boys had a large conflagration on steep forest terrain, a job that took 5 days to control.
