During 1997,4 International/Hackney Mask Service Units(Breathing Apparatus Support Vehicle)were purchased by the FDNY.These were located at the Fire Academy at the Air Mask Service Unit located at the Training Academy,the Units being numbered-IH9701 to IH9704.
In 2000,another International/Hackney was purchased and become IH MSU4?.In 2003,3 Freightliner/Hackney Mask Service Units were purchased?these new apparatus again going as MSU1/MSU2 and MSU3,there were actually also on the fleets roster,3 old reserve MSU's.One was from 1989,and the other 2 from 1997.

FDNY is very much its own world, as above. "Mask" for "BA" or "SCBA".

There is even a "New Yorker" pattern of helmet. Perhaps, someone can post a picture of one.
