Princibly the same as the UK's wheeled escape ladder.The toy manufacturer Del-Prado made a very nice model similar to this from 1957 of the one used by the Centre De Secours De Tarbes,France.
Jacques,were they just an appliance for just carrying a wheeled escape,or did they also have a pump and carry firefighting equipment?.

No pump, hose, tank, or anything else! Crew of five (including one dwarf) or four normal sized Frenchmen. An updated, motorized ladder has recently been introduced, which requires a crew of only 2. They are still used in some cities and towns with centuries-old four of five floor buildings, where the streets are much too narrow for TLs.

Hi Rob,
Many thanks for answering the questions.
Sorry guys I was away for many month.
Some of these models were built with pumps.
As for the new motorized models, they spend more time in the factory or mecanic room. My city Colmar acquired one, nothing to write home about!No: 11874
They still kept the old one as heritage No: 11875
I can say without doubt that the old model will survive the new ones.
