Fire Engines Photos

Just got the info, this is a MOL truck, very rare in France..anybody knows??

The Charente had one at Montbron (I believe unique to the SDIS Charente); Morbihan had one at Baud (which I saw in '99)and another one at Hennebont/Lorient; Maine-et-Loire had one at Chemille, with possibly some more in this area, and the other one I know of is at the Centre de Secours at Caulnes in the Cotes-d'Armor.

MOL is a small Belgian specialist truck manufacturer, building extreme 4X4 and 6X6 off road vehicles for oilfield, construction, road/rail and heavy transportation use, with Caterpillar diesel engines.

They are to be found in the most remote corners of the World in Africa, the Middle East and (much) further afield. The company does not mention any fire fighting applications, so this handful of units in France may have been the only ones.

They do have a Unimog like reputation for their off road abilities, but are of course much more of a super heavy duty proposition. Think of it as a Mercedes Zetros on steroids!

MOL also used Deutz engines and this photo looks suspiciously like thats whats fitted here a big fan cowl and no radiator.
