Fire Engines Photos

Maheu-Labrosse was a major manufacturer of fire trucks between 1948 and 1989 at their factory in Lyon. These included more than two hundred units on Mercedes chassis for French fire services between 1968 and 1978.

They introduced the LP1113 Mercedes chassis to French fire brigades in 1972, which is the pump water tender with the open cab door in this photo. 98 were built in the following six years.

Earlier, they were the first to build forest fire engines for the French market on Mercedes Unimog chassis, which they introduced in 1968. These also enjoyed very strong sales until 1977, when the firm focused more on structural fire pumpers.

Later production seems to have reverted to building trucks on French chassis, and only three of the newer design tilt cab Mercedes F series were delivered..
