Thanks for this view Dave, I know of a few but I only keep Goddess records. The lovely thing about this machine was its simplicity, narrow enough to pump from open water and carried a fair amount of kit. Its other attraction was its offroad ability, having used one for four years and with snow chains when needed, its brilliant. A very underated design and not many outside military service. Hertfordshire ran one in the seventies, I believe this transferred to Leavsden Hospital and was used up until around 1992 by the volunteer brigade there.

John - I too never understood why more of these were not used by UK fire brigades.

I suspect the reason was that these did not meet all the specification criteria for a JCDD approved fire pump...

There were also a few examples, which seem to have been over-built with wider bodies and rollover problems, and of course there was always the temptation to load too much on to them - the payload was not all that high!
