I think we've all got ALP's on the brain,this is from 1986 a Dodge G16C-Saxon-Simon SS263 Hydraulic Platform and was an ex-demonstrator, then operated by the Warkwickshire Fire and Rescue Service and operated out of Nuneaton Fire Station.

warwickshire use to have 2 HP,s this at nuneaton and a ERF at Leamington spa. Its just the ERF now but soon to come is a CARP.

Jacques, you can indeed see the Renault badge on this Dodge HP. I think Renault bought Dodge in the mid-1980s.

D754 EAC was an ex-demonstrator that Warks FS
bought in 1986, In its later years she became a liability due to the fact that it was so unreliable, spares were non existent and was only used for actual fire calls if there was no other aerial cover available in the county or from OB.Due to cut backs the then CFO convinced the cabinet that an aerial at Nuneaton was no longer needed (any excuse not to get a new one). Anyway they decided in 2006 that an aerial is needed in Nuneaton and as you say a CARP is now on the run, 4 years after it was ordered, just a matter of time before that becomes an unreliable liability and is demoted to the back shed !

Lothisn & Borders had a similar appliance to this. Was originally white but then repainted red. Think there are photos of it in both liveries on this site. Fife also had two.

The Fife one's were C459RSF was based at station 01 Dumfermline now closed up until 2000, and B999MSF served at station 03 Kirkcaldy until 2000. Both appliances replaced by Volvo ALP's. I dont know if there are ny photo's of them on this site. Perhaps someone could enlighten me?

Re:HP at Leamington Spa, Late last year a CARP went on the run at 29, VX58 ABF (Scania).
Presumably they will hold on to the HP for the time being.

I was passing L, Spa yesterday and noticed that a Scania water taker was in the ERF's place so not sure whether the tanker replaced it or not but I have not seen a tanker in L, Spa bays for years.

The water carrier has been on the run at L/Spa since May 2006 and was jump manned with the HP.

In Warwickshire this week there is a number of flood exercises being held so maybe they using the tanker. I know they have a tanker pod which is normally in the station yard.

The Scania at Leamington norm has the ET pod on being close to the motorways. Now they have a carp which I have been told if req as a HP will be used as just that even thou it has a ll the gear as a PRL as well.
