Ex London Fire Brigade Dennis Camiva Turntable Ladder. This photo was taken from the head of out 1938 Leyland Metz TL at the Staffordshire Fire Engine Show 09/08/2009
Certainly one of the best TL's of recent times that the London Fire Brigade operated, and I like this somewhat unusual photo from above-its good. Barry, what was the 1938 Leyland/Metz TL at the Staff's Show, would it be the Cheshire one thats already on this site?. I didn't see you at Odiham, you should have popped in for a quick chat,I was in the model tent with my display all over the weekend.

Yes Pete thats the one....we have had the ladder and the fulcrum frame repainted and a few other jobs done including the fitment of direction indicators for the first time....these have are been fitted to existing light clusters using LEDs so they do not look out of place but make driving of the road somewhat safer !! I was able to elevate and train the ladder but didnt dare risk extending....last time the pawls stuck and we had a devil of a job making it up. We did get a jet to work through the monitor. I will post pics later. I didnt make Odiham,,,,I am taking the TL to the Rochdale Museum Show Event on the 6th September
Hello Ian Mc,my display was in the far left corner as you entered the model tent next to Paul Slades Fire Brigade Model's stand. It was the one that depicted 350 years of British Fire Engine's dating from the Great Fire of London in 1666,many of course having been scratch-built by myself in 1/43-1/50th scale. Ian,did you by any chance for some reason take a photo of it?,I forgot to.I normally take a pic because then it gives me idea's each year how I can better it for displaying purposes at the shows/open days that I attend.Maybe someone, for whatever reason took a picture.I'd appreciate a copy please.Thanks,Pete.

Wrong info !!!!! I have recently found out that this appliance was in fact ex Merseyside....and not London Fire Brigade..... it was 'Londonised' to appear in the TV series Londons Burning
Who actually owns this TL now? Its reg is B593NPL,Served at Central and Kirkdale with Merseyside. I saw this on Hightown Road in Wrexham,North Wales on 7/12/2009 at about 3pm in full LFB/Londons Burning livery,it certainly got a few odd looks! I presume its preserved but where?
