Nigel, brilliant picture, I recieved many years ago a shot of this Mack/Aerialscope before the new colour livery, its really nice.But
shorly this appliance cant still be on the run from Headquarters
in Auckland?, can it....Pete Matten.

Right hand drive, built-in pump, booster hose reels, presumably also a water tank? This Mack Baker must be just about unique, when compared to the dozens delivered to the US.

This is the only Aerialscope to see service outside the USA. It is the only RHD version ever made. In June this year massive transmission failure saw it involuntarily retired from service. It has been repaired and as of Tuesday 8th October resides in Auckland's Museum of Transport and Technology. Intentions are that it will get a full panel & paint as there's a bit of rust about and the interior needs a tidy up. Just goes to show that if you buy the right stuff it'll last the distance, in this case 32 years !!!

Mr. Walker is incorrect. There were Aerialscopes that served in Canada. The first went to Dartmouth, NS in 1976, followed by one to St. John, NB the same year. A third went to Verdun, Que in 1977. All three had Thibault bodywork on Mack CF chassis.
