What a pair of machines ! come on Dennis, get building again !

No wonder these machines have high regard, just looking at them makes you feel nostalgic and happy hand on heart, in 30-40 years time will we say that about todays machines ?

Perfect picture and thanks for sharing this Paul !

Unfortunately, (or perhaps fortunately) someone who is about 16-20 years old now, 'WILL' probably be saying the same thing about Mercedes Ategos in thirty or forty years time.
History has a way of moving on, and people always have their preferred era's. With me, it's the 60's to 80's period.
The people praising Mercedes Ategos in the future, will be the ones keeping this wonderfull hobby going when we can't. So we must encourage them. Mind you, any machine is ok as long as it's got a Cleveland 'white front' lol!

Hehe agree fully Chris but think we had the best eras .... mine was 70's - 90's then along came the Volvo's to North Yorks sad day when Bedford and Dennis both stopped building fire appliances.

I'm just a middle aged old fart who thinks that a truck can't ever be a real fire engine and as the years progress, this is getting proven again and again .

I have to admit, i do like the white front Chris, just dont tell my mate John Stott, he may never talk to me again .....
