Surprising to see a reciprocating piston pump as late as 1934. I thought only Ahrens-Fox were building piston pumps this late - of course they continued into the early 1950s.

Are there any Merryweather experts who know when they finally dropped building piston pumps?

Northwich Urban District Council bought a Morris Commercial pump with a reciprocating pump in the 1930s, it was on the run till about 1954. It may of course have been a hand me down on a new chassis.

Early 1950's. Merryweathers supplied a TL for Amedabad India with a midships Hatfield pump and a Commer Superpoise motor pump for Alexandria had a rear mounted Hatfield pump.

London switched to Dennis and Leyland centrifugal pumps from Merryweather reciprocating pump appliances shortly after WWI.

It took Merryweather around thirty years to get back to selling them pumps - but these were of course centrifugal pumps on diesel Maudslay chassis, largely chosen because they had diesel engines and Dennis could not offer a diesel until a few years later...
