Marietta's 1921 ALF
Once the Pirsch ladder truck was pulled out of the station, it allowed me to shoot other trucks inside that would not have been shootable.
This fire engine replaced the horse-drawn Silsby Steamer. It was designated as Engine #2. It was one of the first motorized fire apparatus in North Georgia.
Interesting features of this truck include:
•chain-driven power train
•40 gallon chemical extinguisher
•spark gap and fuel feed levers on the steering column

It's nic to see this collection of classics and v eteran rigs from your part of the world; thanks for sharing them with us. Boy those old Pirsch trucks were built like tanks, virtually indestructible. Too bad more people overseas are unfamiliar with the Pirsch brand; we had many of them in California.
