You can see from the reg plate, how long this has been in service in Derbyshire. Designed specifically for some of the areas of Amber Valley where conventional appliances couldn't get!!
Unimogs are used in almost every country in the World as off-road brush/forest fire trucks. Because they are very expensive and usually frequently used only part of the year - during a "fire season" of four to eight months - fire services do tend to hang on to them for a long time. In addition, less affluent countries' fire services, which can't really justify the cost of new units, are very eager to buy second hand Mogs. So it is not unusual to see new ones which have been in service with small German volunteer fire companies for well over thirty years, and second hand bought units in places like Portugal or Romania which have passed their fiftieth birthday!
