Hi John Pitlochry were running in 1982 an R reg Dodge K850 this appliance is an ex station 04 Arbroath machine in 1957 so i presume it was preserved? You can get this info on Graeme Kirkwood's web site The History of Scottish Fire Brigades.
This appliance is now lying in the rear yard of station 01 blackness road Dundee. It was lying at Perth sometime and workshops staff brought it down here. It hasn't any lights or siren or ladder on it and is ment to be getting restored?
it was a reserve when this photo was taken and would have been on the run at this time , most likely sitting waiting to be changed over when photographed , tayside used them up until 1986 as volounteer /reserve pumps
This appliance is now in the stewardship of the recently established Dundee Museum of Transport, having been kindly donated to The Museum by Tayside Fire and Rescue Service. A timely move with the imminent arrival of the new unified Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. Scotland has a rich fire heritage however preserved appliances are likely to be fairly well down the initial priority list when the single Service becomes a reality in April 2013.
