Scania Turntable ladder York

Seen on 13th April 1996 at York on a Fire Brigade Society visit, was this Scania 93. All the machines here were brought out for us to photograph, I'll dig the others out in due course.
I'm not sure what York's line up is now, it's been a while since I passed their Fire Station.

The brigade joke whilst it lasted, PAJ576R was kept at York to vover this when it was off the run, most of the short time is spent in the brigade, it was dumped in a shed at Harrogate fire station whilst the brigade sued Camiva the ladder manufacturer .

Currently line up at York station is :-

53 plate landrover with water rescue unit
2 x Volvo FL6/14 E-One rescue pumps, 1 on a 54 plate, 1 on a 56 plate .
52 plate Merc econic/ Bronto ALP .

Will give regestartions when i remember them .

why were they sueing camiva for? There were 7 camiva tls in the british fire service London had 3 on dennis F127 the one above for north yorks. Devon had one also on a dennis f127. Staffordshire had 1 also on a dennis f127. If anyone knows where the last one is pls let us know thank you.

Reliability issues mainly, out of the 7 in the UK that were placed on the run, only 3 ever were in use, i once heard London has sent one to France for repair and 2 = years on were still waiting ....

Think it's a safe bet to say they will all be scrapped now if this appliance is anything to go by , unsafe, unreliable, unwanted, unrepairable ! constant fault came on user pannel was fault 82, sadly that didn't exsist .... the repair / maintenance book was in French and the poor people at GB Fire i think had nightmares about this , i know the brigade did ....
