Workshops mechanics vehicle.This vehicle carries out repairs/breakdowns on station and in the field,but also is mobilized to some of the larger incidents in case its needed on the fireground.

Danny - There are 5 of these transit based Fleet support units/ mobile maintenance vans in West Sussex, based at Worthing, Horsham, Haywards Heath, Chichester and workshops. Registration numbers HN52 JZO, JZM, JZL, JZP & JZU. One is avaliable 24/7 on a rota basis. At Worthing , Horsham & Chichester they have their own dedicated workshop/bay at the rear of the station. Rebuilding/enlargement work is being underway currently at the rear of Haywards Heath which will affect their vehicles future location at the station . Jon

Nice van,I think all support units operational or not should be red.I've just had my white transit with yellow and blue stripe replaced by a silver vivaro in battenberg livery .

Danny - These have all been replaced by NEW Transits with Battenberg livery. They are actually based at Worthing 2x, Horsham 2x and Chichester. Workshops have another Transit but its only used as a runaround and isn't fitted out as a mobile workshops like the others. Stuart

Stuart - Thanks for the update - when did they change the allocation of the services vans? - did Haywards Heath lose it's with all the building work to make it a joint Fire/Ambulance station? I saw 2 of the new vans when i passed Horsham last month, but i get a bit out of touch marooned in Somerset these days!! Jon.

one of these vans have been bought by a local haulage company and used a a breakdown van and its still in this livery with just the fire brigade signs taken off , i felt a bit silly giving the driver a flash and wave and he just looked at me weildly as he drove past
