Fire Engines Photos

This is the first time I've ever seen a view of the Maxim in action which wasn't taken at a rally.

This photo was taken by Malcolm Shepherd, shortly after Darlington recieved its first new appliances under Durham County 3 brand new WPT 'R' reg Dennis 'D's hence the third never returned and the Simonitor took up residence as third pump / reserve high rise appliance.

Thanks for sharing. One point, the "D" series shown has double headlights, all other "D"'s seem to have single. Was this a factory change coming to the end of production? (I'm assuming these "R" registered machines must be among the last of the type)Thanks.

The Dennis 'D' that I preserved in the 90's (MPT740P) also had twin headlamps. Originally based at Barnard Castle, Co. Durham. Now sold on due to the 5mpg. (I will find a picture and post it).
