It shows Dennis F25 YYB762 when it was on the run as a water tender at Nailsea and shows the standard stowage on the Somerset Dennis appliances. The shelf with the red box which contains the early RTA equipment is a later addition.

The shelf with the red box which contains the early RTA equipment is a later addition.
The red box contains the early rather primitive RTA gear which comprised of a Cengar Saw and a ripper gun. These were powered by air line connected a spare B.A cylinder.

Paul whats primitive? lol! A good man with a chisel would have a car roof or an aircraft hatch cut in no time, the units were portable as well. Call me old fashioned but if an operator was good with this kit, and I count Epco as well,it could do everything asked of it.

Cutting edge (excuse the pun) technology at the time Paul, people tend to forget how far things have moved on over the years. Even Fire Appliances of the 90's look a little dated these days, especially when compared with todays equipment.
