Neat space-saving front mounted installation for the Coventry Climax 500 gpm pump.

I am surprised that so many Land Rovers had a mid or rear mounted pump, as this front mount location left the entire rear body available for the crew and/or water tank and/or hoses and other gear.

There is also the argument that if you are trying to access an off road open water source, it is often easier to spot a front mounted pump.
