Kamaz did not supply fire trucks to Kuwait, but they did supply a fleet of chassis for the Kuwait City municipal garbage truck fleet. Apparently, they were the only manufacturer which could meet the short delivery schedule in the tender, because they had hundreds of unwanted new chassis lying around at their factory.
Unfortunately these Kamaz trucks turned out to be garbage trucks in more than one sense of the words! Having heard about their propensity to break down, I am quite relieved that no Kamaz made its way in to the fire service fleet.
