The Ford 'D'Series started to replace the old Dodges (K series?)as the appliance of choice for Shropshire in the mid 1970's. This one would have served at Shrewsbury, Tweedale, or Wellington initially as it was policy to put trucks on the run at the W/T & D/M stations to break them in. A small number of the 'R' registrations had full red coachwork rear cabs, which I think looked smarter. I remember driving to my first shout in a D series (PNT 536R). These appliances are the ones I remember most fondly from my career. I was sad to see them replaced by the Renault/Dodge automatics in the early 80's. Thanks for the photo.
