Hi my name is Liane and I own FWE 984J. Even though we have owned her since 2005 we don't know much of her history. If anyone has any picture or info please get in touch we would love to hear from you.

This appliance is from 1971 and is a AEC/Mercury/Merryweather 100'Turntable Ladder.This appliance(FWE 984J)shows it was allocated to Division Street in the City of Sheffield.I actually think this is wrong.This appliance was allocated to Mansfield Road where it remained under the South Yorkshire CFS until going out of service in 1983 following some time as a reserve appliance.The appliance went into preservation in 1983 and was first owned by Trevor Corp,then owned by Fred Starks of Eastleigh in Hampshire.
The one that was allocated to Division Street in the City of Sheffield I beleave was FWE 983J.This appliance was to remain in service also until 1983 and this also went into preservation.This appliance was also owned by Trever Corp of Fair Oak,then owned by Nigel Bunny of Hursley.

I have picture of her in service with a name plate on the side clearly showing Division Street. Although we are still searching for more up to date information on her.

Liane, what capacity is the water tank, 200 or 400 Gallons? The reason I ask is I have this down as a Water Tender Escape. AEC TGM4R/Merryweather FWE983J Served at Division Street and then Mansfield Road. Sister appliance FWE983J was later converted to run with an Angus 464 ladder and served at Elm Lane.
