And still as amazing as the day it was built, simple, rugged yet long lasting, how many modern fire appliances will last this long ? not many give the amount of chassis rot on some of the machines around here ....

John, got it in one! I think this has to rate alongside some Dennis machines, as the best Type B ever made.

Added by John Stott on 18 May 2009.
what replaced this appliance at Enemalta ?

Added by Rick Loudon on 18 May 2009.
This one looks nice! If only Oxford Diecast would do a model of a TK "Angus", these appliances were all over the UK and had several different liveries, they also looked unmistakeably british.

Might I mention that this vehicle was only withdrawn from service last year, and the Civil Protection department and the Police department still have bedfords like this in service, although rarely used.

They have a Mercedes now, still doesn't look better than the Angus

As Malcolm has said, Enemalta now use a Mercedes (can't remember the model number), ex Yorkshire Fire Brigade.

Added by Mario on 20 May 2009.
Sure thing Mario, I will be bringing my mate John, he likes Bedfords and Bedfords, he also drinks loads of tea!

Added by John Stott on 21 May 2009.
Mario, no sugar in tea but one in coffee thanks mate !
John, think you could be right there mate, is there any other make of fire engine other than Bedford and Dennis ? ps love last of the summer wine, great fun !

Looks extremely like bravo 12 whisky that I rode in Didcot Oxfordshire UK mid 80s. Can this lovely piece of heritage be viewed?

The TK was really the classic British water tender in its day, especially with the HCB body. HCB did a really nice job with the Ford D too, after a really hideous first effort for Gloucestershire!
