Wonderful Station Poole was. It's a shame the local council didn't get it protected. It had history, character and charm unlike the current fire station. When I look at the monstrosity on the site of the old fire station that's in situ, I cringe.

Is this the station within a stone's throw of the speedway stadium? Now demolished? If so, that's a shame.

I Think so Pete. At the bottom end of Wimbourne Road. When you think of what ran out of the old station it's a shame it was not saved.

Hello Andrew my friend was stationed here at B18 Central Fire Station when a was a Leading Fireman hes now gone up the ranks Sub at training school and now hes station officer of Westbourne Fire Station.His dad was station here as well as his grandad in the war and so was his great grandad so you see why the interest of this station for him. I video filmed the whole station being demolished and had a few souvenirs such as brass letter boxes flag pole and even bought off the demolish company both lamposts at the front of the station then my friend turned up with a crew to remove the central fire station signs one buy one at least they are safe.I was hoping this station would get listed like its brother station did Bournemouth Central. As Andrew said I agree monstrosity now Police/Fire Offices has been built in its place at least the borough stone has been put back in .As for the new fire station at marshes end well its a industrail unit with fire engines in it I think its horrible.
