5/7/09: For you, Pavel! A classic American fire apparatus. Dalton, Georgia's 1971 American LaFrance pumper. STILL going strong in 2009. Complete with bell and "growler" siren. It is a reserve pumper.

Glad you like it Pav. She doesn't usually come out of her station, so when I saw her out I HAD to get the shot. Now if I could talk them into bringing out the 1947 LaFrance at the same station!

Actually, this apparatus is a '68 or '69 model, I know because I used to work there and have done the morning checks on this apparatus any times. Also, the other one is a 50's model, 54 I believe, not 40's.

My Father is retired from the Dalton (Ga.) Fire Department. As a matter of fact it was his dedication, and this engine that seduced me into the Fire Service.
