Saw this engine on Ascension in August 2010 with the other appliances in the "new" fire station.
They are getting a good collection of old and new appliances scattered about the Island, with the RAF, American Air Force and Ascension Island Fire and Sea Rescue there must be 12 different vehicles on the Island.

Anybod an idea where I can buy such a cool Land rover as second hand?

Is this a 6X6 or 6X4 with a dead trailing axle? Various firms modified both Land Rovers and Range Rovers in these different ways. The dead axle weighed less and under most situations the units did not miss the extra traction of a third powered axle.
