On the right of picture it shows a 1959 Bedford TJ/Alfred Miles WrT which was new to Wiltshire FB
and stationed at Salisbury and later Amesbury.
The appliance went out of service in 1978 and was
much later found in a Southampton scrapyard and
finally went into preservation.

Bedford VAM 828 Via Mr Roger Brown this appliance is now owned by William and Keith Miller in Wiltshire.

I bought this appliance out of the Southampton scrap yard about 1979 I think. It was my first fire engine that I bought, since then I have had had 5 others. 1 Ford, 3 Bedford's and 1 Austin Gipsy.

This Miles was quite advanced for 1959, with its light alloy framed body, roller shutters and wrap around windscreen. Most of them had no front doors, just like this one, which meant it was difficult to stow BA sets inside the cab - unless the OIC and DPO were slender and very agile. But some brigades did rather sensibly spring for a pair!

Hi, Does the Dodge on the left have a Carmichael body? and what is it's Registration? Photo not quite clear enough.

That is a Carmichael badge on the front of the Dodge.
