I wonder if the museum inadvertently placed the wrong plaque next to this TL. I've photographed many Leylands and have the supposedly definitive book on the classic pre-war production machines, but nowhere have I seen a Leyland that did not have the LEYLAND logo prominently displayed at the top of the tall radiator(quite different on this TL), as are the fenders of all the late 1930s production models shown in the Leyland Fire Engines book released through the Leyland Society.
It's a Merryweather ladder pointing to just pre or early war years. This is a TLP in the true sense carrying a hosereel. I suppose today it would be a CTLP!
