G139CPY one of three Ford Transits temporarly converted to ET's during the mid 90's, when the three big ET's were unavailable. Of the three, this was the only one I managed to photograph, and was the last of the three to be withdrawn seeing further service firstly as a Hydrant Maintenence van with the Brigade, then after disposal, in use with a private owner.

What's the story behind the vans being turned into ETs?

I have limited details of the Ford Transits as follows:
F459UEF Allocated to Stranton and disposed of in 1996.
F461UEF Allocated to Coulby Newham and disposed of in 1994.
G139CPY Allocated to Stockton, then Stranton (1995), then back to Stockton (1998).
