3-6-09: Bradley County, Tennessee tanker. Not sure of the specs, IIRC it has an 1800gal tank and a 1000gpm pump. Mfg. by Central States on an International chassis.

Seems like an awful big box of water to have a single rear axle. Any idea of the tank capacity?

1800 US gals, works out to 1500 Imperial Gallons (6813 litres).

In rural New Brunswick, 1500 Imp Gals is generally the maximum for a single-axle Tanker; provided, you don't hang much more equipment on the truck.

More of a "mult-tasker" - the roles are blurred a bit, as to a Tanker-with-a-Pump-and-Hose, and, a Pumper-with-a-decent-sized-Tank.
