brandweer Soest GMC Jimmy watertenderThis 1943 GMC CCKW353 "Jimmy" watertender with Boudewijn bodywork and Bean high pressure pump was in service with the fire brigade of Soest in the Netherlands. It is still in they hands, it came in service in 1949 and was use well in to the seventies.

They were primarily destined for service as brush pumpers, and as the conversions were done by many local firms in different countries, they varied widely in specification, equipment and style.
Many were not much more than a tank and a portable pump on a standard chassis-cab, but some - like this example - had a much more elaborate custom body treatment.
