Fire Engines Photos

The Brunei International Airport (BIA) fire department have a fleet of several Rapid Intervention Vehicle (RIV) (i don't know how many), 1 medium pumper (Mercedes Ziegler), 1 fire van, 1 Land Rover Defender Hose Layer (HL) and 1 Mitsubishi L200 twin cabin pick-up.

The Brunei International Airport (BIA) fire department is now replacing its ageing fire station which was build on 1975 same as BIA.The new fire station which will completed next year will have a casualty treatment centre (in case of emergency) and a control tower.The fire station is build next to the airport control tower.

It is a ZIEGLER "ADVANCER" FLF 60/50-8 with S-2000 Snozzle. Built on Carmichael 4x4 chassis and manufactured in Ziegler Indonesia.
It has FP 60/10-2H fire pump from Ziegler with capacity 7000 lpm at 8 bar with geod. suction head 1.5m and 5000 ltr water tank and 500 ltr foam tank.
Manufactured and delivered to DCA Brunei in 2004.

Forget something.In 2004 this Carmichael Komodo RIV is launched for service together with the Mercedes Atego Rescue Tender(RT).The RT bodywork was build by Ziegler.It brings rescue equipments for terminal fire and also crash landing.

Last year our school conduct a trip to 'Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Brunei' (LTAB).We visited the airport fire station.At the station i see this appliance both outside&inside.It is a cool appliance i ever see.It's my first time to see a Snoozle (in Brunei)&this appliance is a middle steered appliance.

What is the acceleration for the above mentioned RIV (from 0 up to 80 kmh)

I'm not sure about its speed but its engine quite powerful.Possibly its speed is same like the Carmichael Cobra2 RIV (picture somewhere in this website), as you know this RIV is built by Carmichael.

The Carmichael RIV in MOD service in the UK uses a Detroit 2 stroke Diesel unit and they don't half shift.
