Dennis F28 Pump Escape 22FYD front

This appliance was built in late 1959 and delivered to Somerset Fire Brigade in early 1960 when it was issued to the two pump retained station B7 City of Wells. It was originally a pump escape and finished its service as a Water tender Ladder. It was stationed at Wells all its life and was taken off the run in 1978. It then went to Hinckley Point Nuclear Power Station where it served as a water tender in their works fire brigade alongside another ex Somerset F28 index 353MYA. It entered preservation in the early nineties and has been restored by the owner to have it would have looked when it first entered service minus the wheel escape. You can see from the rear shot, the adaptation workshops carried out so it would carry a 13.5m ladder rather than the escape. This machine was one of a batch of five bought by the brigade, three were water tenders and two were pump escapes.

Hi Paul, Any idea where the F28 from Wiveliscombe has ended up?

Paul - Did the conversion include fitting the 400 gallon tank, or did the appliance already have the bigger tank?
