Turkey Side Mangavat

This Renault watertender I saw in Turkye. The vehicle is stationed at te top of a mountain. The fire fighters are stationed there for 25 !! days. After this period they are 5 days off. In the winter months they are free of duty.

This example of rural firefighting staffing is by no means unique. Several countries employ wildland firefighters on a seasonal basis during the fire season, both as paid firefighters and as volunteers. This practice is commonplace around the Mediterranean and in some parts of the USA.
