LEYLAND TD7 GLW414

This Leyland TD7 (GLW414) was still on the run when I visited Kettering several years ago, however it's replacement, a Bedford TK was already on the appliance floor. I do not know if it was bought for preservation: it deserved such for it appeared to be in first class, pristine condition. Kettering also an ex-NFS Austin Mobile Dam Unit(MDU) looking as if it had just been delivered, still in its NFS grey minus the water tanks.

What a great old 'bus' - literally.

There cannot have been much space behind the rear wind-screen; what with the athwartships pump engine there - so the Pump crew must have had only the rear-facing seat, and then, ride standing....

Thanks, Bob, for putting this beauty up; and let's hope she is in a good home....anyone got news of her ?

Regards, from Canada,

ladder in the post-war livery of red. Thanks for sending in this photograph.
The reason I had not passed a comment before now on this photograph was because

Thanks for the comments, fellows. I think the picture 1962 needs more information before we tie it in with the Kettering truck as above...Anyone from the Kettering area? Also, while in England during the time period I saw a couple of more modern Leylands with flush grille under the windshield, and it seems to me it was called a Leyland Titan. Bournemouth ran a pump escape, and I was told there was a northern city that had a couple. Any leads? Thanks.
