ACT Bushfire Service Heavy Tanker- HALL 10
Cab Chassis: Isusu FSR 700 4x4
Tank Capacity: 3500 litres
Pump: Diesel 3 Cylinder Hatz Motor, Gaam 3 Stage (allowing pump and roll capability)
Foam: AFFF Induction System

Call Sign: “Hall- One- Zero”
Call Sign Description: Hall= Brigade Name- One= Denotes Heavy Tanker- Zero= Denotes First of that type in that brigade.
This is typical of the Heavy Tanker used by the Australian Capital Territory Bushfire Service in the 1980s and 1990s. All tankers from this era were painted “John Deere Yellow” with 1 red beacon and flashing headlights with thin red/yellow/red reflective stripes. The vehicle has crew protection bays forward of the tank where the majority of grassland and forest fire fighting is undertaken, and rear of the tank where the pump is operated from and secondary fire fighting can also be done. The rear heat shields were added by the brigade when the pump was updated from a petrol VW engine and include enclosed hose reels with electric rewind. The ACT RFS is renowned for it's use of large sign writing!
The Hall Volunteer Bushfire Brigade (as it was called pre 1997) is situated on the N/W boarder region of the ACT and protects the village of Hall and surrounding farm land.
