Brandweer Doetinchem Austin K2 Ladder

The truck, Austin K2, as shown in the pictures was the first laddertruck from the Doetinchem Fire Brigade in the Netherlands. The chassis might be built in 1943 (we are not sure about that) and it became al laddertruck when former vol. fireman mounted the ladder in 1948. The truck was in service from 1949 until 1976.

Would there be much difference, deploying the 2 screw-down ladder-jacks as carried here; versus the 4 ladder-jacks positioned around the turn-table, as carried on the British rigs ?

Or, would you have to always point this Ladder-truck, in the same direction as the ladder is raised to ?

A testament to the Volunteer Fire-fighters that built her.
